I can’t remember what exactly made me develop a strong dislike for new year resolutions. Maybe it was those new year resolution essays we had to write in primary school, that forced us to come up with wishes we were not old enough to sacrifice horses for. What I recall is that I got to a point where I decided to stop making new year resolutions because they just did not work for me.
Trust me, my excuse was valid. What was the point of making promises to myself at the beginning of each year only to end up on December 31st having done every other miscellaneous thing but the very projects I set out to accomplish on January 1st?
